As we close out 2011 and look forward to 2012, we are often encouraged to look back on the previous year and all that it brought with it – the challenges, triumphs, memories, and heartaches. Surely, we all have things which we are thankful to have experienced this past year. However, there is also much I am sure we would rather forget.
I have so many wonderful memories from this past year, but it is not without those moments when I wish things could have been different. God has brought me through some difficult times these last several months, and while I am still learning some tough lessons, I am most thankful that He still desires to use me. A friend of mine texted me this verse: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Phil. 1:6 (ESV)
We have much to look forward to in this coming year. So as we look back over a year of God’s blessings, may we look forward in hope that God will carry us through whatever this new year may bring.
